Even at this early hour the path is dusty and the heat encroaching. Hiking diamond head might first appear to be a challenging all day climb but this oahu hiking trail can look deceiving as it really only takes about 40 to 60 minutes to reach the 760 foot summit.

Hawaiians call it leahi brow of the tuna in reference to the formations ridgeline which resembles the tuna fishs dorsal fin. Diamond head is a volcanic cone on the hawaiian island of oahu and is the most popular hawaii state park.
