Diamond head is a 1700 metre 5600 ft rim to rim wide typical tuff cone with a wide and not overly deep crater that forms a prominent promontory east of honolulu. About 300000 years ago there were small volcanic eruptions on the island of oahu creating 3 significant craters in the area.
